Personal & Family
I consider myself blessed to have grown up in Soda Springs, Idaho, a small community which values hard work, honesty, and being a good neighbor. Time spent at universities in Logan, Utah and Athens, Georgia, combined with two years of church service in Spain provided experience in even larger communities. These experiences taught me to learn how to relate to a variety of people and cultures. I have been blessed to be married to my wife, Aleena, for nearly two decades. We are raising three wonderful children in Wellsville, Utah.
Prior to working in the financial services industry, I spent several years as a self-employed individual. This provided a lot of real-world experience in the challenges of running a business. I live those challenges to this day while operating Winward Financial and observe them in my client’s lives as well. I also enjoy being the number one cheerleader of my wife as she operates The Legacy Loft, The Quilting Bee in Wellsville, and the Wellsville Cone, all local small businesses. Our collective goals are to provide positive experiences for our community and spaces where people can gather with those they love while helping others achieve their desires.
Philosophically, I approach planning from the standpoint that while it is vitally important to plan for our future and work towards our dreams and desires, we also need to spend an appropriate amount of time here and now living in and enjoying each moment to the fullest, surrounded by those we love and cherish. It can be a challenge to find the right balance, but I enjoy striving to do this in my own life and helping clients do the same.
